MSD Global Clinical Trial Operations Leadership Team Visits Siriraj to Strengthen Research Collaboration in Thailand
On 17 June 2025, Siriraj Institute of Clinical Research (SICRES), Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, had the honor of hosting the MSD Global Clinical Trial Operations Leadership Team at the Siriraj Medical Research Center (SiMR). This visit represented a meaningful step toward enhancing strategic research collaborations and driving clinical research excellence in Thailand. The meeting brought together MSD executives and leading Principal Investigators (PIs) from Siriraj’s Department of Medicine and Department of Pediatrics for in-depth discussions.
The core agenda focused on seven key areas essential to the success of clinical trial operations. These included an overview of MSD’s current and future research pipeline, potential joint research initiatives, regulatory navigation in Thailand, strategies for improving patient recruitment and retention, ensuring GCP compliance, capacity-building through training, and aligning strategic goals through partnership feedback. Investigators from various divisions—such as Medical Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Hematology, and Pediatrics—actively contributed insights and suggestions on how to overcome local challenges, particularly in regulatory processes, infrastructure, and participant enrollment.
Following the meeting, the MSD team toured key research facilities, including the Siriraj Institute of Clinical Research (SICRES) and the Department of Pathology. The visit concluded with a photo session alongside Dean Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul at the Statue of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, highlighting Siriraj’s ongoing dedication to academic excellence, patient-centered care, and global research collaboration. This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of Siriraj and MSD to advancing global health through ethical, high-quality clinical research.
